Greek Social Tourism Program Launched for Retired Professionals

The application process for the DYPA Social Tourism Program opened this morning at 08:00. This specific cycle is aimed at retirees who were formerly self-employed and insured under OAEE (Free Practitioners’ Insurance Organization).

Interested parties can submit their applications through the gov.gr platform until May 13, aiming to secure one of the 25,000 vouchers available under the program.

Program Benefits & Duration

The use of these vouchers begins on June 1 and allows for up to six nights of stay at participating accommodations with a limited private co-payment. Additionally, enhanced benefits are provided for specific regions to support domestic tourism:

  • Eastern Aegean Islands: Up to ten free nights in locations such as Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Samos, and Rhodes.

  • Special Zones: In areas such as Northern Evia, Evros, and Thessaly, stays can reach up to twelve nights at no cost.

Travel & Accessibility

The program maintains the core benefits applicable to employees and the unemployed, covering not only accommodation but also a portion of travel expenses. Ferry tickets are subsidized, with beneficiaries paying a 25% co-payment, while full cost coverage (100% subsidy) is provided for people with disabilities.
