The Region of Attica has launched The Greater Athens Region, a new international tourism campaign designed to showcase the destination beyond its world-famous capital and establish it as a year-round tourism hotspot.

Under the central message “Greater Athens, more than a region, a phenomenon,” the campaign highlights the remarkable diversity of experiences available across Attica. From the historic landmarks of Athens and the coastal beauty of the Athens Riviera to nearby islands, mountain landscapes, vineyards and culinary experiences, the region brings together contrasting worlds within easy reach.

The initiative aims to strengthen Attica’s international profile, encourage longer visitor stays and promote tourism beyond the traditional summer season. It also seeks to spread the benefits of tourism across the wider region, encouraging travellers to explore more of what the destination has to offer.

At the heart of the campaign is a main promotional film that presents Greater Athens as a destination where culture, nature, gastronomy and contemporary city life coexist. By shifting the focus beyond the Acropolis and the city centre, the campaign invites international audiences to discover a broader and more diverse side of Greece.

With its combination of urban energy, coastal escapes and cultural heritage, Greater Athens aims to inspire travellers to look beyond the expected and experience Attica throughout the year.
