Some places are more than just summer destinations, they’re part of the story of the Athens Riviera. One of them is Limanakia Beach Bar, tucked away in Vouliagmeni, where rugged seaside cliffs meet crystal-clear waters and summer feels beautifully untouched by time.

This iconic family-run beach bar, now in its fourth generation, has been welcoming visitors since 1969. For more than five decades, Limanakia Beach Bar has remained a beloved landmark, attracting both locals and travelers who know the Riviera beyond its famous beaches. Throughout the years, it has preserved its authentic spirit, laid-back charm, and timeless atmosphere, making it one of the area’s true classics.

What makes Limanakia Beach Bar so special is its seamless connection with nature. Rather than a typical beach bar, it sits directly on the rocks, with the Aegean Sea just steps away. From early morning, swimmers, sunseekers, and explorers stop by for freshly brewed coffee, refreshing drinks, or a light snack after a dip in the turquoise waters.

As the sun begins to set, the atmosphere transforms into something truly magical. Golden light washes over the coastline, the sound of gentle waves fills the air, and the sea breeze creates the perfect setting to enjoy a signature cocktail or an evening drink while taking in one of the most spectacular sunsets on the Athens Riviera.

There is no unnecessary extravagance here—its beauty lies in its simplicity. Nature takes center stage, while carefully selected music and an easy-going atmosphere invite guests to slow down, relax, and lose track of time. It’s the kind of place where one drink effortlessly turns into an unforgettable evening.

Warm hospitality has always been at the heart of the experience. Every guest is welcomed with genuine smiles, creating an atmosphere that feels instantly familiar and inviting. With passion and attention to detail, the space continues to evolve while preserving its character, authenticity, and timeless charm that generations of visitors have come to love. Traditional values blend effortlessly with contemporary touches, offering an experience that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly modern.

Today, Limanakia Beach Bar continues its journey with renewed energy while staying true to its soul. For anyone looking to experience the essence of an Athenian summer, this seaside gem at the First Limanakia remains one of the Athens Riviera’s best-kept treasures—a place where your day can begin with an invigorating morning swim, continue with coffee and seaside relaxation, and end beneath the stars, cocktail in hand, with the sea just a heartbeat away.

How to Get There

Limanakia Beach Bar is located at the First Limanakia of Vouliagmeni, around 25 km south of central Athens and approximately 30 minutes by car, depending on traffic.

If you’re driving, simply follow Poseidonos Avenue (Athens–Sounio coastal road) towards Vouliagmeni. Free parking is available along the roadside near the entrance, followed by a short walk down to the beach bar.

Using public transport is just as easy. Take Metro Line 2 (Red Line) to Elliniko Station, then board Bus 122 heading towards Saronida. Get off at the A’ Limanakia stop (sometimes marked as Limanakia Petalo), and follow the short path down to the beach bar. Alternatively, buses 115 and 117 also stop at A’ Limanakia, making the venue easily accessible from different parts of the Athens Riviera.
