Pogonia in Palairos is one of the most photogenic bays in Aetolia-Acarnania, with water that changes hue depending on the time of day. It is here that Seagonia, a new 58-room hotel, recently opened. Aktio Airport is 20 minutes away by car, and Athens is about three hours away via the motorway, a distance that makes the destination feasible even for a three-day weekend. Much of the route passes along the Ionia Odos highway, through landscapes of Western Greece that change character every few kilometers.
