Greece once again confirms its dominance on the global tourism map. In the recent Readers’ Choice Awards list by Condé Nast Traveller, readers from around the world highlighted the European islands that captured their hearts, with Greece securing eight prominent spots, proving that the Greek summer remains the ultimate destination.

The Top Spot Belongs to Naxos

The big surprise—and at the same time, the absolute confirmation of its charm—comes from Naxos, which claims the first place on the list with an impressive score of 95.71. The largest island in the Cyclades managed to surpass even cosmopolitan destinations like Ibiza, winning over travelers with its combination of authentic tradition, culinary treasures, and endless sandy beaches.

Greek Dominance on the List

In total, eight Greek islands managed to achieve scores ranging from 83.38 to 95.71, placing our country at the heart of the preferences of a discerning international audience.

  • Naxos (1st place): The absolute leader.

  • Crete (8th place): Remains a steady value, competing head-to-head with Sicily.

  • Corfu (10th place): Worthily represents the Ionian with its aristocratic beauty.

  • Rhodes (11th place): The historic capital of the Dodecanese.

  • Skiathos (12th place): The diamond of the Sporades that enchants with its beaches.

  • Mykonos (14th place): Timelessly on the list, competing with Corsica in glamour.

  • Folegandros (17th place): The alternative, wild beauty that is gaining more and more fans.

  • Santorini (18th place): The world-class destination that remains firmly among the top choices.
