The Yacht Club of Greece and Grivalia Put Greece on the World Sailing Map

The Yacht Club of Greece, in partnership with Grivalia, is launching the Hellenic RS21 Sailing League powered by Grivalia, a new sailing competition that leverages one of Greece’s greatest natural assets—its seas—to attract sailors and teams from around the world.

The new league combines top-level competitive sailing, premium hospitality, and a modern approach to promoting Greece on the international stage.

The inaugural season will feature three regattas in 2026. The first two events will take place on June 28–29 and September 5–6 at One&Only Aesthesis, located on the Athenian Riviera, while the third regatta will be held on October 17–18 at the Yacht Club of Greece.

The races will be contested using six RS21 boats, making their debut in Greece. These modern four-person keelboats are distinguished by their high performance, ease of handling, eco-friendly construction materials, and compatibility with electric propulsion systems.

They represent a class of boats designed to meet the demands of a new era in sailing.

With direct access to the sea and world-class facilities, One&Only Aesthesis provides the ideal setting for an initiative that aims to go beyond the scope of a traditional regatta and establish Greece as a significant destination on the global competitive sailing map.

Mr. George Chryssikos, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Grivalia, stated: “The Hellenic RS21 Sailing League is a natural extension of our strategy to invest in initiatives that showcase Greece internationally. Our goal is to build an institution that attracts athletes and teams from across the globe while positioning Greece firmly on the world map of competitive sailing.”

Representing the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club, Race Director Mr. Stratis Andreadis expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, noting that thanks to the support of NOE members through their donation, and with the backing of Grivalia, Greece is gaining a modern, accessible, and exciting new way for people to participate in competitive sailing.
